Our jury panel will be looking at two aspects of the applications:
1. YOUR PERSONAL VISUAL PORTFOLIO:
*We are looking at the selection of your 2 – 8 best previous work on accessories design, that best represent who you are as a designer. We are NOT expecting you to create a new concept/collection design that is based on ABURY’s concept at this stage yet.
Applicants are advised to upload up to 8 pieces (minimum 2) of their previously designed accessory pieces, either during their studies or after, on the application form. By applying, you are confirming that you are the creator of the pieces. We will be looking at creativity, innovation and craftsmanship skills.
Note: Among these 2 – 8 pieces, please make sure that at least 2 of them are in three dimensional presentation (i.e. finished products or realistic prototype/model.) For the rest, feel free to include other materials that you believe will best represent your work; i.e. sketches, conceptual drawing, mood board, press release, etc.
Note: We are expecting to see your flair in accessories design. However, we are open to see you include your clothing design in your selection of 8 pieces as well. Just make sure at least you show us at your accessories design talent!
2. PITCH VIDEO:
Applicants are advised to upload a link to their Youtube’s video, up to 60 -90 sec. The short video should try to answer the following guided questions:
- Why do you want to be part of the Design Experience?
- What are your motivations, visions and dreams?
- Do different cultures fascinate you, and why?
Please remember to use this opportunity to show who you really are. Working with traditional artisans for three months in remote communities can prove to be a real challenge. We are waiting to be convinced that you are ready for this Experience!
