16 Jul First Impressions
It is very cold today, so I stayed in most of the day, continuing with my research. I just stood up to stretch my legs and looked through the window and saw the most gorgeous image. While it looks chaotic, I saw beauty in it. A husband, wife and child lifted wood from the back of the car. Like factory workers in action, they handed each log down to each other in a beautiful teamwork. Even the child participated and it struck me how when you do not have much, your “much” becomes family. This is day 2 and already the sense of a family unity and bond is very evident. I don’t know what happens behind closed doors, but so far I see respect and honor between men and women. The mist has covered the mountain that overlooks my window now, and I desire nothing more than to revel in this majestic beauty. Things may get harder, but for now, I am standing on my window looking at the meaning of peace…and hope. Thank you for the opportunity!
